A very windy, sunny, and
cool weekend set the stage for some exciting racing action
at the final round of the 2011 LACC Series. In the XC1
class #5 Kevin Hutchinson (KAW / Team ¾) got back to his
usual ways grabbing the holeshot ahead of KTM rider Andy
Beebe (Team 3/4 / MTA / Scott Equipment) and the rest of the
hungry pack. A young and very fast Honda 450 pilot
Cheyenne Harmon from Texas recovered from a bad start, blew
through the pack quickly to get up to the front, and stayed
there until the checkers. With the overall win Harmon
took home his share of the $500 cash purse along with $100
in Honda contingency. Left: Cheyenne Harmon by Chris Shows |
Harmon commented on the podium, “The
track was good, it was pretty fun. I rode alright, made a lot of
mistakes though but the track was good, the LACC guys did really
well putting it together. I just have to thank the Lord Jesus Christ
for letting us all be here on our motorcycles and keeping us safe,
DT1 Air Filters, Speed Graffix, Motorex Oils, Red Bull, my trainer
Troy Gant – he’s been pushing me hard and helping me out a lot
lately, Fox & Shift, my Mom & Dad, my Grandma, and anyone else I
might have forgotten - Thank You.”

Another talented racer from TX, KTM pilot
Bryan Vaughan (Asterisk / Vertex / Moose / Ricochet / IMS), blasted
his way around the sandy six mile course to finish in second.
Louisiana young-gun Hutton Woods (KTM / Mike's Outdoor / Woods Tank)
quickly got used to his new 450cc machine and put in an impressive
3rd Overall on the day, even after a bad start.
XC1 rider Andy Beebe played it smart,
didn't take too many chances, and earned the 2011 Overall
Championship! Everyone following the points battle was
bummed for Jason Harvey (SUZ / Cycle Gear / Raceworks) who
had some bad luck Saturday injuring his ankle during
practice. Harvey tuff'd it out anyway and finished the
race Sunday, even with a broken clutch lever; he came out
second overall for the year. Third overall went to
Jake Haddox (KTM / Brewton Insurance / Soil Stabilizers) who
has been consistent all year and led many laps throughout
the season. Getting back to the Round 10 action, another Louisiana young-gun Evan Shows (KTM / Mike's Cycle Supply / MTA / Pierce & Shows Attorneys) took top honors in the XC2 Lites class, followed by offroad newcomer Daniel Jackson (KAW / TCP Motocross Schools), and Zach Rambin (KTM / Mike's Outdoors). |

Ryan Breaux (KTM / Performance
Cycles / Chuck's Appliance) ran into some bad luck at Round
10 with a flat front tire but had enough cushion to still
win the 2011 XC2 Lites Championship. With a strong
effort toward the end of the season Evan Shows was able to
tie Breaux but the tie-breaker went to Breaux who had more
wins; Shows ended up second. Past XC2 Lites Champion
Jason Reine (KTM / Moose / FMF) finished third overall for
the year. This season was one of the most exciting yet, we (Acadiana Racing) sincerely appreciate everyone's support! |
