With cool clear skies across Louisiana, a huge crowd of over 560 were present in Ethel at Hall’s Hazzard County, Round 9 of the Louisiana Cross-Country Series! A perfect amount of rain fell on Friday making the ground conditions ideal for racing. Competition was intense and entertaining, but most importantly at the end of the day, the Hall family made another generous donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital for over $2,800.00!

Battles had emerged between three top XC1 riders – Jason Harvey, Bryan Vaughan, and Andy Beebe - as the 2011 Overall Championship would be determined by the final two rounds. KTM rider Andy Beebe (Team ¾ / MTA / Scott Equipment) was off to a promising start when he took the holeshot in the XC1 class but crashed during lap one dropping himself back to tenth overall. Meanwhile, after only a few turns into the race, GNCC Pro and points spoiler Morgan Moss (Obermeyer Yamaha/Fly/WPS/Michelin) made a crowd pleasing leap across the blacktop road to begin working his way up from the XC2 line into the overall lead. Bryan Vaughan (KTM) led the XC1 class for two laps but then had an unfortunate mechanical DNF during lap three which threw away his championship hopes. Beebe didn’t get discouraged after his crash but rather pushed his way back into second place overall by the end of the race and won the XC1 class. Jason Harvey (SUZ/Cycle Gear) pushed hard through the traffic working his way up from fourteenth place during lap one into the third overall / second place XC1. Moss kept his speed throughout the race’s entirety astonishing the spectators as he secured another LACC overall win.
Evan Shows (KTM/Mike’s Cycle) put in a very impressive ride on his new 2012 machine to finish second place in the XC2 Lites class behind Moss and fourth overall. Ryan Breaux (KTM/Performance Cycles/Chuck’s Appliance) rounded out the podium in the XC2 class with a third place finish.
The tenth and final round of the series will
take place at Desoto Motorsport Park on November 13th!
This venue is home to 2X World Motocross Champion / ’10 LACC Overall
Champion Trampas Parker and it will decide the 2011 LACC overall
champion between Harvey and Beebe. Come check out the racing
action! As always checkout
