A large group of racers from across the south were
able to enjoy the nice new venue, Juderman’s Park, under breezy
sunny skies and on mostly dark loamy dirt. A few
areas of dust and mud kept things interesting but for the most part
the 2011 season is now 3 for 3 lucking out with great weather and
ground conditions.
#13 Jason Harvey Over The Enduro Engineering Log Crossing |
The large crowd of spectators witnessed intense battles and interesting obstacles such as the Enduro Engineering Log Crossing and the Team ¾ Mud Bog. Another one-off optional section at this round was at the start where riders had the option of going around a longer dry route, or turning sharp and blasting through a deep mud hole. A few XC1 riders tried the muddy option and it almost paid off for Suzuki pilot Jason Harvey, but Jake Haddox (KTM/MTA/Brewton Insurance) had more speed coming around the outside and was able to dive into the woods first. Still not bad for Harvey though because soon afterward Haddox made a bobble which allowed Harvey to get into the lead. Much to the spectators delight, positions swapped around but Harvey was just unstoppable once again, took the overall victory, received the majority of the cash purse, and most importantly extended his championship points lead. Defending series champion, Trampas Parker (KTM/Munn/TCP MX Schools/Arai/Fly) fought his way from the back of the pack all the way up to second overall/second XC1 finishing just 1 SECOND ahead of third place Jake Haddox. |
XC1 class rookie Haddox put in some very
impressive lap times and once again is showing he has the speed to
be a title contender. Nice to see these guys
joking around on the podium afterward and just having FUN.

In the XC2 Lites class, a great points battle is
developing between defending class champion Ryan Breaux (KTM/Chuck’s
Used Appliance/Performance Cycles) and ’09 class champion Jason
Reine (KTM/Enduro Engineering/FMF). This weekend
Reine stood on the number one block with Breaux in second and young
XC2 Lites’ Evan Shows in third. Shows is backed
by Mike’s Cycle Supply and others but made sure to thank his parents
on the podium for making it happen.

Special thanks go out to Team ¾ for all of their hard work, Mr.
Juderman for allowing a race, and everyone else who showed up to
have a good time. As always, excellent coverage
of this race will be posted on AcadianaRacing.com.
Thanks to all of our media excellence crew for promoting the
sport!
