Leesville, LA

As anticipated Round 1 of the 2011 Louisiana Cross-Country series started off with a bang.  Over 250 racers were able to enjoy the dark loamy dirt of Leesville Motorsports Park during a pleasant, breezy February day.  Hundreds of spectators scattered around the course and were entertained with many spectator points to choose from such as the MTA Cliff Jump, the Gas Gas Rock Pile, the FilterSolution.com Culvert Jump, two motocross tracks, nice trail sections, and so on.  Excited and anxious riders on the starting line were asked to shut off their bikes for the National Anthem; thanks to Team 3/4 for this great addition to our program.

At the slightest movement of the green flag Mississippi's Kyle Henderson blasted off the start on his Best Loading Services KTM 300 to nail the XC1 class holeshot.  During the first lap of the race defending series champion (and past World MX Champion) Trampas Parker backed by KTM/TCP MX Schools/Munn/Fly/Arai worked his way past the majority of the class after a poor start.  He then found himself coming through the scoring tent already in first place but Andy Beebe (KTM) backed by MTA/Scott Equipment/Hutchinson ATV wasn't far behind in second.  Henderson remained in the top 5 for most of the race until an unfortunate crash from an over-jump set him back.  Parker and Beebe held their positions through the finish and XC1 class rookie Jake Haddox (KTM/Soil Stabilizers/Brewton Insurance) put in a very impressive ride to start the season off with a third place finish.

Another exciting highlight of the day was XC2 Lites champ Ryan Breaux (KTM/Chuck's Used Appliance/Performance Cycles) getting the holeshot on the second row, fighting past the XC1 class, and earning a 3rd Overall / 1st XC2 finish; meanwhile taking home his share of the $500 purse.

A knee injury didn't stop Jason Reine (KTM/Moose/FMF) from finishing in second place and young XC2 Lites rookie Zach Rambin (KTM/Mike's Outdoor) was excited to stand on the podium in 3rd.

In conclusion it was another successful Acadiana Racing promoted event, thanks to the land owner Rick Allen and everyone who participated!  As usual picture / video links can be found on our website and even more coming soon!
