oh man the day went really good. turned out to be a good weekend. i
got some good riding in
and got
to battle with some fast guys. i was pretty happy that i didn't have
any problems since i
was out
there by myself. the track was super good this weekend. i have been
up here for a few
other
camps and the track never even came close to this. it was ridiculous
how rough it got just
in
those two days. the dirt there is just sweet, it is just covered in
natural sand.
On the Golden Pines MX the following weekend:
we went out to golden pines for the mississippi state championship and it was just awesome. thats the first time i have been out there since i got life flighted out of there. i knocked myself silly about a year ago or so there. they changed the track and it was definitely a good change. i signed up for the 125 B, 450B, schoolboy, and the 4 stroke amateur class. i ended up winning the overall in every class. i won a total of 7 motos and of 8. it was a really good weekend and its a big confidence booster going into the NMA national in Branson Missouri.
On training and practicing:
i try to ride and practice every chance i can get. if i can throw my leg over a dirtbike i most definitely will. i try and go the gym at least twice a week and get my training in everyday if i can. cardio is a big thing in motocross. i do a number of things for my training.
when i go to the gym i mainly focus on my legs because you use them so much when you race motocross or just riding a dirtbike. for my training i either roadbike, run, swim laps, or run stairs.
i have just started swimming and that is a great workout. if i would have to pick out of those four i would pick swimming. its not as boring as the others and it works your upper body and lower body.
On how he got into MX:
i started riding when i was four years old. so as of now i have been riding for 13 years. i started out on a old Z 50. the shifting was completely different. you had to shift down to go faster and up to go slower. my dad had built some training wheels and had welded them to the swingarm. it was pretty sweet. my dad was the one who first got me into racing. i remember him bringing me out to the track and i was like man, this is awesome. next thing you know i had me a dirtbike.

Racing Goals:
my goals for the upcoming years are
pretty simple. i would like to win a amateur title first of
all. that would just be awesome. i want to get my pro license and try out the whole national and motocross thing. if that doesn't go so well i would like to do some of the canadian nationals. i have heard some really good stuff about those. i am just gonna work really hard these next few years and whatever happens happens. |
